I've become a fan of seed starter trays with attached grow lights for helping to get my seedlings off to a good start. This set has the transparent covers that help keep seeds moist, plus the vents so that you can control the humidity better and also the attached lights. Really, everything you want to help grow healthy baby plants.

I'll note that these small cells can provide a challenge for removing each seedling when it's time to move it to a new environment. Depending on the plant, I sometimes try to 'scoop' from the top with a rounded tiny shovel or push from the bottom, possibly damaging the tray, and sometimes a combination of both. I mention this just because although I like the very large trays in some instances (such as planting very tiny seeds when you expect some waste but just sort of flood the thing), the smaller 12-cell trays can be easier for removing things. Also, I've learned not to mix different seed types in my trays because they often grow at different rates and then it's harder to give each type of seedling the care it needs at that moment.

Great seedling starter. Love that the lights attach to it directly. Greatly prefer the ones with humidity vents because it helps ensure that the moister is correct for the seedlings. Love that the tray is set up so you can bottom water the seedlings so they get an even amount of water rather than accidentally washing out one hole when trying to water.

This product is a good setup for beginners as well as experienced growers. It comes with three trays of growing receptacles, three trays to set the receptacle in to avoid water overflow spillage, and/or to create a self-watering set up. Nice dome enclosing everything, and decent little lights to get the seed germinating. Once the seeds reach a decent height and the first true leaves come in, I'd advise using a stronger grow light, or remove the dome and rig these lights s0 they are a couple inches of the seedlings, and raise the light as the seedlings grow. I really like this thing. I've been growing and experimenting with vegetable seeds, tree seeds, and multiple medicinal plants over the past few years. When i see something like this i snatch it up and try it out. I would highly recommend this product. You do need to supply your own seeds and growing medium. I would also recommend you purchase a heat mat, as this does not come with one. Although possible to grow without it, the addition of that 10-20 extra degrees really helps seeds to germinate faster

This set is sturdy and I absolutely love the light for the lid. I like to get my seeds started indoors but don't always like looking as seed trays in my windows so this is a perfect solution. I was able to start my seeds in my insulated garage this year which was much more to my liking. The seed holes are a little small so this is more for quick transfer or smaller plants which I'm totally ok with, and next time I'll pack the soil in a little tighter so it doesn't crumble as much, but overall very happy.

This is a great way to get an early start on your garden. I have problems with everything eating the seeds before they get started so I'm gonna try starting my plants inside then transplant. Great starter set.
